As the title suggests, I am fascinated with interesting pots. While you can go overboard with too much "splash", it is also easy to be boring. This article will be about more colorful pots and I may do another on more interesting designs later. I might add to this at a later date as well. Some or all of these may be for sale and I will provide links.
Bunzan pots
Here is a link to some images. http://www.topshelfbonsaipots.co.uk/bunzan1.html
As best I can tell, Bunzan is like a company name for us and Kaoru Ito is the name of the artist. This is from the Echizen region. info.pref.fukui.lg.jp/tisan/monosato/en/pdf/echizenyaki.pdf
It seems that he is retired - although the PDF above lists him as a representative. There do seem to be pots available - that seem to be new. They are often quite colorful.
As I write this - both are available here: http://www.bonsaivision.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=bunzan
I have threatened to buy the pot shown below more than once. I am just not sure what I would put in the pot...

And this is interesting too...

Bonsai Vision has a number of Tokonome pots that are interesting. These are Youzan pots and more can be found at http://www.bonsaivision.com/tokoname-bonsai-pots-s/1814.htm
But you don't have to go to Japan for pots. The Yixing province of China produces some fine pots.
This is a cream colored Clay pot. Other shapes and sizes can be found at http://www.bonsaivision.com/category-s/1818.htm
Remember - just because it is deciduous, you don't have to use a glazed pot.
This is an unglazed red clay pot and can be found at https://www.bonsaioutlet.com/8-bonsai-pot-814/
And it is possible to get blue clay https://www.bonsaioutlet.com/4-1-4-round-yixing-pot-yx574/
This pot is actually a bit bluer in person than the image portrays. Nice pot.
Or...

Other forms of contrast
While this is a very nice pot... http://www.bonsaivision.com/product-p/bvsk304c.htm
This has extra contrast that can be used as leaf color changes, with flowers or other situations http://www.bonsaivision.com/product-p/bvgp-1504.htm
