Mid-Michigan Bonsai Message Corner
The next MMBC meeting will be on July 16th, at Van Attas, at 6:30pm.
This will be a BYOT (Bring Your Own Tree) workshop that will be led by Bill Cadman.
Bill has extensive knowledge and skills with bonsai. He will assist you by providing advice and direction for the next steps in your bonsai journey.
Bring your tools and tree to this meeting to gain an understanding of how you might further develop your bonsai tree. If you are planning on showing a tree in the MMBC September show, this would be a good time to learn what you might want to do to improve the tree and prepare it for display. Other, non-show, trees are welcome!
Bill is a long-term member of MMBC. He served as the MMBC president for many years. Bill's experience and education in bonsai is extensive. He has a solid understanding of plant biology and an artistic eye. Not a meeting you should miss!

The next MMBC Meeting is on May 21st, 2026 at Foster Community Center, Room 109 at 6:30pm-8:30pm. As usual members may gather beginning at 6:00pm to socialize.
This month's topic is: Propagation
Methods to acquire material for bonsai have been discussed many times. Nursery stock, bonsai vendor purchases, and collecting from the wild or in your backyard have all been suggestions. At this meeting, discussion and demonstration will focus on using seeds, cuttings and air-layering as a means to increase your bonsai collections. Please bring your success stories and challenges that you have encountered in propagation.
