Akadama is now on sale in our webstore. Mirai is proud to provide the opportunity to access this incredible soil substrate to maximize the cultivation of your finest shohin bonsai. Our limited supply of chumei, or smaller-sized akadama, is largely regarded as the highest quality in the world. It is this quality that facilitates the healthiest amount of root growth—allowing the root system to scale with the active decomposition and fracturing of the soil particles. The self-scaling nature of this material provides the best balance of water and oxygen as well as the ability to hold nutrition in the bonsai container. Take your shohin to a new level of refinement and shop now at https://goods.bonsaimirai.com/collections/supplies/products/akadama #akadama #bonsai (Source Facebook) www.facebook.com

On Saturday, May 11 i will do the already announced big spruce. This will go onto a slab - either a natural stone or one made by Jan Culek. Now it was decides that I also do a demo on Sunday, may 12 in the afternoon. I decided to stick with the theme. A Japanese hemlock tree (Tsuga sieboldii) will be mounted on a slab by Jan Culek. The aim is to show that an already very good and 'finished' tree which can go into any exhibit as is can be changed considerably and hopefully improved by mounting it wit a lot of consideration on an appropriate slab and slightly edit it. Anyway, it will be interesting, entertaining, educational and hopefully successful. Entry is free, btw! (Source Facebook) www.facebook.com

Tonight on Mirai Live, we’re breaking down this pivotal time of year in terms of directing and managing energy by strategizing growth management plans for three pines in different stages of refinement. Build your skills in growth management decision-making, and learn when to pinch and when to let grow to elevate your composition, maximize your results, and set your trees up for success.
