Happy President's Day! U.S. presidents played many roles in the life of the National Bonsai & Penjing Museum. Pictured below, former President Bill Clinton accepts the gift of an Ezo Spruce, collected and styled by bonsai master Saburo Kato, from Japanese Prime Minister Keizo Obuchi in 1998. This Ezo Spruce, as well as the Japanese White Pine given as a gift to President Ronald Reagan in 1983 from the King of Morocco, His Majesty Hassan II, both remain in our collection.
