Earlier this month, Mrs. Kiko Yoneda of California paid a visit to the Museum to see the tree that her late husband, Kaz Yoneda, donated to the North American Collection. The tree, Juniperus horizantalis ‘Prostrata,’ was on display in the Museum’s Upper Courtyard for the occasion and Mrs. Yoneda helped carry on her husband’s legacy by lightly trimming the tree under the supervision of Acting Curator, Michael James. Mrs. Yoneda was accompanied by her daughter Robyn Ogawa, her niece Emi Imoto and Mrs. Imoto’s husband Eddie Imoto, as well as a close friend of the family, Michi Higashi, daughter of Kamei Katsuya. During the visit Mrs. Yoneda looked over the notes on the tree from the Museum archives and said of her husband: “He was a man of few words, but he did a lot!”
