Errol Rubin, a long-standing member of Eastern Bonsai Society since 1979, passed away in Johannesburg on Sunday 13th January 2019 after a long, brave battle against cancer. He wrote numerous articles for the club magazine "Treeview" and the international "Bonsai and stone appreciation" magazine He supported and was on the committees of BRAT,SABA and ABA and did innumerable demonstrations at all these Bonsai organisations. Errol has been a committee member at EBS since 1982 in most of the portfolios and11 times as chairman. He retired from the executive committee in September 2017 due to ill health but continued to provide support to the club and manage the club's Facebook page. He will be greatly missed at EBS and in Bonsai circles. Our thoughts are with his wife Adele, his 3 sons and family
