Last week we hosted Pauline Muth, noted bonsai artist, for two evenings of bonsai. The turn out was very good and everyone seemed to learn a lot and enjoy themselves. Thank you Pauline, and thank you to all who supported this event. The next three months schedule for the club are as follows: April 16 Repotting spectacular. 7:00 Meijer Gardens every member can repot 1 tree. WMBC will furnish wire and soil you should bring your tree and a pot to put it in. Additional soil can be purchased at a nominal cost. We will have experienced members there to help if you need some guidance. In the past this has been a very well attended and fun evening. BONSAI 101 FOR 15 MINUTES STARTS AT 6;45 May 11 and 12 with Todd Schlafer as guest artist at Meijer Gardens. While this is not specifically a WMBC event you are invited to enter a tree and participate. Classes and vendors are top notch. There should be something for everyone. May 21 our May Club Meeting features Jack Sustic who will conduct a BRING YOUR OWN TREE workshop. don't miss this opportunity to work with this celebrated bonsai artist. If you attended the June meeting last year where Jack spoke about the National Bonsai and Penjing Museum at the National Arboretum you will remember what a good time that was. This event will be as good. Bring a tree and plan to work on it with Jack. 7:00 at Meijer Gardens. BONSAI 101 FOR 15 MINUTES STARTS AT 6;45 June 18 Tour of member gardens. This was very well received when we did this last year so make sure you are ready to attend this year. Details about where we start and and the schedule will be announced soon.
