Are you tired of winter yet? Are you ready for spring? I certainly am. Only 34 days and counting. March signals the return of our monthly meetings. So here is the march meeting (which is really two meetings) One on March 25 and one on March 26. On March 25 we will meet again back at Kent Career Tech Center. Pauline Muth of PFM Bonsai of Charlton NY will be leading a teaching demo for the evening. Pauline will concentrate on teaching us about shohin bonsai. The next night we will participate in a workshop to style your own shohin itogawa juniper bonsai. Pauline is hand selecting the stock for us and will lead the workshop. Here is the twist. This workshop will be at Meijer Gardens. This will be held on March 26 starting at 6:00 pm. There are only 10 spots available although everyone is invited to attend as observers. The cost to participate is $70 and is open to all members. You should take home a nice shohin juniper! If we do not fill the spots by March 15 we will open registration to non members for an additional fee. If you wish to register please send your name and payment to Brian McNulty. his address is in the January post. Speaking of memberships it is time to renew your for 2019 if you have not done so already. Those dues help us plan and pay for programs with outstanding bonsai teachers like Pauline Muth. Mark these two dates on your calendars and plan to attend I look forward to seeing you. Tim Cox, president West Michigan Bonsai club
