The August meeting was a good one. Thanks to Bill Cadmun for his demo of a Scots Pine, transforming it from just a potted tree into a bonsai. His commentary as he worked was informative and entertaining. The tree is being raffled and tickets are available at meetings for $10 each. I hope to draw the winning ticket at the Club show in October so you have plenty of time to get your ticket(s). Please support the club and buy a ticket (or several). We don't need to make lots of money on this but we do need to break even! The September meeting will have a program of How to Make a pinch pot. Member Chris Trabka will lead us through this process so everyone can make a pot. Chris will complete and fire them in his kiln and the finished pots will be available at our Dec meeting. Club show is coming up in a little over a month and we would like to see everyone participate. Remember this is a show to show your trees and your progress with them. This is not a show competition that is judged. More about this later.
