Spring is prodding our temperatures up a little bit, the sunshine is a welcome friend, the hours of daylight are increasing and our bonsai are beginning to show signs of rebirth!! It is an exciting time! Just over 1 week from now we will have our first bonsai club meeting of the new year. On Tuesday March 20 at 7:00 we will meet at Kent Career Tech Center (see attached map). They ask us to use parking lot D and use door D-75. That door will lock automatically at 7:30 so please be on time! You may access KCTC from The East Beltline (between Leonard and Knapp) or from Leffingwell. The Leffingwell entrance is easier and the entrance leads almost directly to parking lot 5. I will be there at 6:30 and will answer my cell if you need help finding the proper entrance. (616-240-4440) Our program for the evening will be Tim Priest showing us bonsai tools, How to use them and how to care for them. Anita Buckowing will talk about bonsai pots, how to select them, where to buy them and how to match them to your trees. This is especially timely as our April meeting will be about transplanting, your trees into proper bonsai soil and a pot. Of course I encourage you to bring a tree to ask for help and/or advice, or just plain show off. See you on the 20th!! Tim Cox, president West Michigan Bonsai Club
