Coming at the end of September is Club Show Sept
Coming at the end of September is Club Show Sept 30 and Oct 1 at Meijer Gardens. This is a show open only to West Michigan Bonsai Club Members. If you remember the past shows it is held during Artprize and we expect a lot of visitors from the Artprize Enhibit at the Gardens. What can you do and how to participate?
Enter a tree. As a club show we want to show "finished" trees, of course. We also want to show trees in development. Wiring on branches, training pots (maybe not nursery pots) and any of manner of "development" on your tree(s) entered. If you enter something in training please write a paragraph about what you are doing and what you hope to do in the next year. We want to show the public the process, and the progress you are making.
Volunteer to work on a tree during the show. We will have a table where club members can sit for an hour or so and work on a tree. The public will have lots of questions and it is a great way to engage with them and promote bonsai, and the club. Everyone should try to do this.
Entries can be brought to the Gardens on Friday afternoon and early Saturday Morning. Times will be announced soon.
We will need help setting up the show on Friday the 29th and tearing it down on Sunday after the show. Try to donate a couple of hours to your club to help these tasks go smoothly and quickly.
